Support my challenge to save Kiwi hearts
This May, I’m taking part in MyMarathon to raise funds for heart research that will help save lives.
I am doing this for me! 25th March 2024 I had open heart surgery to replace a valve that had been damaged due to heart disease, my valve/heart had been damaged due to Rheumatic Fever or Strep throat. This diagnosis was given to us 8months ago 3 days after having our beautiful girl. Pregnancy and Labour were the final straws and my heart had had enough.
Years and years of being treated because i had Asthma, chest infections, shortness of breath and not once was this picked up ... it should of been!
Heart disease is the single biggest killer in New Zealand, and I want to do something to support the thousands of Kiwis whose lives are impacted by this disease every single day.
