Tim's Journey
Seven years ago, my 25-year-old brother Tim was diagnosed with a chronic heart condition which affects the electrical circuits of his heart.
He has since had six operations including the implantation of an ICD, (defibrillator and pacemaker) and at this stage, he’s able to lead a relatively normal life with some tweaking along the way although is restriced with his physical activity.
It’s been challenging for him, but he’s an absolute inspiration with his amazing can-do attitude and positive outlook on life.
It’s an unknown journey ahead for Tim, but having the support of organisations like Heart Foundation NZ is crucial. Raising money for research, improved health services and access to specialist care is really important -- and it brings hope.
Keeping fit and active is my passion, and I’m so happy to be doing this for Tim.

Support my challenge to save Kiwi hearts
This May, I’m taking part in MyMarathon to raise funds for heart research that will help save lives.
Every 90 minutes, a person dies of heart disease.
Heart disease is the single biggest killer in New Zealand, and I want to do something to support the thousands of Kiwis whose lives are impacted by this disease every single day.
