My last walk for the challenge

We travelled to Papamoa to camp with our caravan today. After setting up the site and a bit of R&R I went for a walk on the beach, took a couple of photos which are the last ones on this page.
Only logged the return walk on the beach. Quite cold on the sand, nice feeling on my feet and the sea was very cold.

Completion of Heart Foundation May Marathon

Wow what an amazing month of May!!
My generous donors gave with the love of their hearts 💕 to those in need of heart 💓 diagnosis' etc!
My legs and pump (💓) gave 211kms just in time.
Such a worthy cause, thank you to all the supporters, organisers and marathoners that participated to raise $$$ for those in need
Fantastic efforts…

New target $600

My target was a little low, so with two days to go, I’ve increased it to $600 and hope that I can meet it.
Always good to have a little pressure & with Thursday and Friday to go and about 9kms to reach my target of 210kms we are looking good!
I have a potential walk with my great friend Cath tomorrow, so might just meet my distance of 5 marathons for the month.

Fergus 5km

Wow the second event of the Fergus 5km started at 6pm tonight. Got there in enough time to register and seemed to pick a great number 134 and did a fast walk at 36 minutes.
Had a couple of rainy light showers to cool the heels. Great to see heaps of people do the event. I was in as the 103rd person, out of I don’t know how many and I’m sure it will be posted on Facebook 😊

Saturday Park Run & Auckland Mangere Walk 10km

Park run on Saturday was great my second volunteer day course set up and 5km walk, actually quite a quick pace!
Sunday event in Mangere at Ambury Farm Park. A 10km walk event, cracked this at good pace done in less than 1 hour 20 minutes. Wet, windy and wild weather provided difficult conditions to be competitive, but hey all for a great cause as well.

Two Bridges-Pre-dawn River Walk

Hey there another pre-dawn walk before work! 9kms to warm up the soul and through the river walk in the dark, great to have a Ledlenser light on my head. Cool and calm along the river at a nice steady pace, loved the 🦆 🦆 quietly waking up to a beautiful dawn on the rise!

Quick 5km 21-05-2024 Before Dawn

In a light shower of rain I made a mercy dash around a couple of blocks, which look like a mad man’s mile, or 3. Ha ha, all in a great cause, as the rain kept falling, I didn’t stall and got home for warm shower and off to work…
Awesome 💗

TEN DAYS TO GO

21 days in with 10 to go, hopefully I will hit and surpass my targets, maybe $600 and 200kms! Looking forward to the next 10 days and this coming Sunday I have an event in Auckland, so that will be a biggy

Walking the extra mile

I set an original target (conservative) of 84kms then last week I reviewed it as things are going well! Now with over 100kms done I changed my target to four marathons, being 168kms, so got to get my red Pumas on and get cracking to get this done! Thank you so much to my sponsors, I really appreciate your donations to this worthy cause, I’ll do my best to meet your expectations, cheers folks.
Be great if anyone would like to walk with me! I’m always ready with the first step of 12,000 🤪

International donation from the UK.

Wow I never expected my friend Roly to send a donation through to me here in Hamilton.
The power of Facebook, friendship and an amazing cause!

Support my challenge to save Kiwi hearts

This May, I’m taking part in MyMarathon to raise funds for heart research that will help save lives.

Every 90 minutes, a person dies of heart disease.

Heart disease is the single biggest killer in New Zealand, and I want to do something to support the thousands of Kiwis whose lives are impacted by this disease every single day.

Please make a donation to support my challenge and help save Kiwi hearts.

Together, we can win the race against heart disease.

Thank you!
